From
the second grader learning about the bone structure of dinosaurs, to
the sixth grader discussing Latin root words, to the high school
student working through the intricacies of advanced calculus or
comparing Greek and Roman mythology, students at Nashua Christian
Academy are challenged to realize their highest academic potential.
The
NCA difference is clear. Our classes provide solid grounding in the
fundamentals of mathematics, literature, and the sciences, while
developing students’ critical thinking and problem solving skills.
NCA
is an ACSI (Association of Christian Schools) member school and is
approved by the State of New Hampshire. Our academically rigorous
college preparatory program is enhanced by experienced teachers degreed
in their subject areas and committed to challenge every student from
Kindergarten through grade 12.
One
excellent way to track a child's educational development is
standardized testing. This is an annual event at NCA: grades K-9 take
the Stanford Achievement Tests, and Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors
take the PSAT or SAT. The PSAT is administered on site. Seniors are
strongly encouraged to register for college SATs in order to maximize
their career options. High School teachers present PSAT/SAT Prep days
with classes focused on building students’ test taking skills. NCA
students and alumni include National Merit honorees and scholars, and
most NCA students taking the SAT score well above the national average.
More
than 45% of our Junior High students qualify for the prestigious Johns
Hopkins program, and the High School promotes excellence through
Advanced Placement and Honors classes to stretch the gifted student.
Seniors may intern in a diversity of career areas, ranging from
aviation and nursing to finance and automotive repair. Our graduates in
‘03 and ‘04 received scholarship awards of nearly half a million
dollars per class. NCA graduates continue to excel at colleges and
universities such as: Calvin, Cedarville, Gordon, Mass. College of
Pharmacy, Messiah, Purdue, Pitt, UMass, UNH, URI, and Wheaton, to name
a few.
Our
goal is to provide an education that will prepare every student for
college life and beyond.
