When students develop a heart for God, all aspects of their lives are impacted and dramatically improved.
Guiding them in this development is an honorable goal and a high calling, one which requires diligence and the grace of God. We start this work on our knees and work it out daily in how we relate to our students, the way our classes are structured and the way we answer their questions.
This commitment to developing godly character has impacted Bible classes and chapels and has matured our approach to Bible assignments. We focus primarily on stimulating each students relationship with Christ. Additionally discipline has become more closely linked to discipling. Disciplining with the heart in mind is more time consuming but produces long-term fruit. Rules and regulations are not enforced in a legalistic manner, but with a clear, relevant Scriptural purpose. We work one on one with students whether they need support in academics or matters of the heart.
When a student makes the decision to develop a heart for God we see significant growth in his or her commitment to academics. Since NCAs inception, students Scholastic Aptitude Test scores have been significantly above state and national averages and continue to rise. This level of academic achievement reflects both the unique quality of our students and the pursuit of excellence among the staff of NCA.
Consider Johanna Holecys reflection: (class of 05) These six words, Passion for God, Compassion for People have been the driving force behind everything done at NCA. Teachers and students alike strive toward real understanding of what this motto truly means, both personally and cooperatively
We want to walk like Him, talk like Him and reflect Him in all we do;
At NCA we are striving to live this on a daily basis.
