Colossians 3:17

Sports, arts festivals, science fair, worship band, robotics–these are the rich memories that come to mind when a student thinks back on their school years.

Our goal at NCA is to nurture the whole student,–body, mind, and soul. With that in mind, we offer many opportunities beyond the typical day-to-day academics.

In the sports arena, our Junior and Senior High teams compete in soccer, basketball, and cheering through NHIAA, Tri-County, and Intramural Sports. We find that the thrill of competition is a great place to develop character. One of the favorite competition teams in the Junior High is our FLL Robotics team. Students grow in leadership, intellect, and teamwork as they build robots to complete an array of tasks.

In the area of Fine Arts, we have a wide array of opportunities that range from Kindergarten to Senior High. We organize a yearly school-wide arts festival, hold seasonal Elementary and Junior High programs, and host an annual Senior High drama production. We also have dance and drama teams that perform at special chapels. For the Junior and Senior High, students participate in worship bands and lead our weekly chapel services.

One of our greatest areas of enrichment reaches outside the halls of the school. Students are regularly involved in outreach,–ministering to children, the elderly, and the homeless in the Greater Nashua community. In 2003 the High School launched an English as a Second Language (ESL) program. A hallmark for many High School students is their participation in our short term mission trips. Each year nearly one-third of our students travel overseas on school-sponsored missions trips to touch the nations with the love of Christ. We find that as our students reach out to others, they become enriched by the love and power of God as never before.

The variety of extra-curricular activities at Nashua Christian Academy is truly astounding. From sports and theatre to foreign language and robotics the list seems to go on and on. Often what is learned is different than what can be taught in the classroom. Patience, perseverance, and the joy of performance are some of the skills picked up during these activities.
LIBRARY-
With over 8,000 titles in the NCA library there is something for everyone. Mrs Frediani and her dedicated staff work to ensure that every visit to the library is a step in developing life-long readers. From biographies of the Heroes of the Faith, to timeless classics from the Berenstain Bears, Anne of Green Gables, and the “Left Behind” series all students have access to this excellent resource. A wide variety of resource material is also available.

PERFORMING ARTS- Soli Deo Gloria
The mission of the NCHS Theatre Department is to give our students an opportunity to use, develop, and discover their gifts and to glorify God “for in Him we live and move and have our being.” Acts 17:28

The NCHS Theatre Department began in 2004, opening with Oscar Wilde's "The Importance of Being Earnest". In a reversal from Greek drama, a cast of young women handled even the four male roles admirably. Not to be outdone, the actors for 2005's production, Louisa May Alcott's "Little Women", performed a vignette from the play at the Alcott home in Concord, Massachusetts by special request. The students were honored and excited to perform in the museum.

NCA's annual Spring play for 2006 was William Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing”. A talented high school cast of 4 girls and 15 boys presented what theater goers are describing as our best production yet!
OUTREACH- Takes on many forms at NCA.
It could be offering a cold soda to someone in need, serving pizza and watching a movie with a person who doesn’t have a home or simply praying with a young child that has a problem and needs God’s help. Showing God’s love in a tangible way is what outreach is all about.

Students are regularly involved in outreach,–ministering to children, the elderly, and the homeless in the Greater Nashua community.

Every year nearly one-third of our High School students travel overseas on school-sponsored missions trips to third-world countries. These trips can be life changing for both student and recipient. A student is often challenged out of their “comfort zone” and into a closer relationship with the Lord. Reaching outside of themselves to help others by playing games, performing, singing or simply being a friend to a child that may have never met anyone outside their village.

At the close of a recent mission trip Beth Seremet reflected on her time away. “This was a special time to reflect on all that had happened and to give praise to God for the work that He continues to do in the Ukraine. All praise and honor to the Lord!

WORSHIP TEAMS
God is blessed when we offer him a “joyful noise” and both Junior High and High School students participate in our worship bands and lead our weekly chapel services. Students work closely with Mrs. Eastman and are challenged to develop excellent technical skills as well as a heart for God in worship.
